Center Stage Cohorts

Center Stage Cohorts

You didn't start pole dancing to shrink. But the second someone's watching, everything you've built disappears. Center Stage is where you find yourself in the spotlight.

You know that feeling when you become aware that people are watching and you start to freeze up?

Your body becomes stiff and empty of all the skill and experience it had a second ago. The move you just did felt boring and disconnected and you can't seem to let it go, so you try to think of something cool to do to make up for it. The music is gone. You're no longer listening. You'e stuck in the past and planning for what's next, and the present moment is lost to you.

This doesn't change by just practice, experience, or exposure therapy

Being seen touches on the subconscious. As soon as you separate yourself from the group by getting on stage, a survival instinct—the fear of rejection—is triggered.

This loop can be broken, but it won't be broken by just experience and practice alone. 8 years of performing never broke that loop for me.

What gave me the freedom to be seen by hundreds of people without a second thought was learning to manage my mind.

This worked for me and my clients. I've seen them go from struggling with dancing in front of others at the end of a class, to owning the spotlight in a high end video and photo shoot. I've seen them go from freezing up in a zoom dance session, to making eye contact with everyone from the audience to the camera.
